How long will my examination take?

Your examination will take 45 minutes. Please allow sufficient time.

What is done during my examination?

Our eye examination is tailored to you and your visual requirements. It includes determining your prescription and checking the health of your eyes. We also measure the pressure of your eyes and perform a visual field examination. If necessary your pupils will be dilated for a thorough posterior eye examination.

How much will my eye examination cost?

The cost of your consultation depends on whether you are eligible for NHS funded care.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring all spectacles you currently wear with you for your appointment.
Please bring a list of your current medication.

Diabetic patients will be dilated so please note that you may not be able to drive after your examination.
Please bring your NHS number (found on your medical card) and national insurance number.
Patients with low vision please bring your current magnifiers.
Contact lens wearers please wear your lenses for your appointment and bring your contact lens case and spectacles with you.
