GP Referrals
NHS Pears

Primary Eye Acute Referral Scheme (PEARS) – If you have an eye emergency e.g. painful, red, sore eye or sudden loss of vision, where do you go? We keep diary slots available each day to see these types of emergencies and you can usually be seen the same day therefore avoiding unnecessary trips to the eye hospital. In order for us to examine you, your GP will have to refer you to us.

Mr Ryatt has been accredited for the Primary Eyecare Acute Referral Scheme (PEARS) by WOPEC (Cardiff University).

Glaucoma Referral Refinement – if during your eye examination, the optometrist is suspicious of glaucoma-related changes in your eye, we will call you back for repeat or additional examinations at no extra charge.

Pre and Post cataract assessment – if you have cataracts and are eligible for NHS cataract surgery, we can perform a detailed eye examination and discuss the suitability of your eye for cataract surgery, how the operation works and what to expect post surgery.

We can refer directly to any Leicestershire hospital, cutting down on unnecessary hospital and GP visits therefore making the process as quick and stress-free as possible.
